For this crochet rose flower ball, I made around 37 white roses and about the same number of purple crochet roses. For the base, I used a styrofoam ball approximately 8 cm in diameter.
You can also make your own base using paper and tape - simply wrap the paper tightly into a ball shape and secure it with tape.
To attach the flowers, you can use glue, hot glue or pins. I personally attached the flowers using pins.

The stitches used in this pattern for the are:
- slip knot
- sl st - slip stitch
- ch - chain stitch
- sc - single crochet stitch
- hdc - half double crochet stitch
- dc - double crochet stitch
Notes about the crochet rose flower and leaf pattern / tutorial:
- I was using a 3mm crochet hook and yarn apropriate for that crochet hook size. You may use the yarn you have at home. The crochet hook size and yarn weight will determine the end size of your crochet rose!
- The pattern for the crochet rose can be adjusted. If you want bigger crochet roses, just make more chain stitches. And if you want smaller crochet roses make less chian stitches. I would suggest makeing them between 16 and 37.
- For my crochet kusudama flower ball I mixed different sizes of roses.
- The petlas can also be different sizes. You can do 4, 5 or 6 double crochet stitces for each petal. And you can attach them with just one chain and a single crochet stitch or with two chains and a slip stitch.
- Below you will also find a diagram for one option of a crochet rose. The same I used to make a bookmark. These crochet roses are so versatile to use. Bookmarks, pendants, brooches and much more.
Pattern for the Crochet ROSE
- R1: 25ch – mark the last stitch
- R2: ch5, dc in the marked stitch, {skip 2ch, (dc, ch2, dc) in the same stitch} repeat
- R3: { ch1, (5dc) in V shape, ch1, sc in between two V shapes} repeat

A diagram pattern for a variant of a crochet rose:

Pattern for the Crochet LEAF

Some other things you can create / crochet with the same crochet rose pattern is perhaps a Crochet ROSE BOOKMARKER or a Crochet BROOCH. Both patterns have a full video tutorial.
Happy crafting
