DIY Summer Crochet Pendant
|
Feel the Summer with this stunning beach themed crochet pendant inspired by sand and sea. Featuring my own mini wreath base pattern and adorned with ocean toned beads, this DIY statement jewelry piece captures the essence of beachy vibes.
This isn't just a pendant! It is a statement piece. A wearable memory of lazy beach days and the soothing sound of the sea. Whether you are dressing up for a summer festival or adding a splash of handmade charm to your outfit this piece radiates summer vibes.
Curious how it is made?
I added some pictures below for better understanding how I made the pendant!
I used my mini wreath pattern (with a few easy adjustments) you will find the stitch counts and numbers below.
You can also watch the entire process in a step-by-step YouTube tutorial to make your own version of the base.
The beads are a mixed set, carefully chosen to match the beachy theme, and each one was hand-sewn onto the base.
Materials needed for this Beach and Summer Inspired Crochet Statement Pendant Jewelry:
- Yarn
- Crochet hook
- Fiberfill (or any soft filler)
- Embroidery thread
- Sewing needle and sewing thread
- Beads or embroidery thread (depending on your preferred decoration style)
- Optional Embellishment - Beads or Embroidery? You Choose!
While I chose to decorate my pendant with a rich mix of shimmering seed beads to capture the motion and sparkle of the sea, you don't have to go the beaded route. If you prefer a softer or more minimalist look, you can absolutely embroider the base instead.
Use embroidery thread in ocean tones to stitch waves or abstract textures - the crochet base is sturdy enough to support your design. This makes the pendant totally customizable, whether you are into sparkly details or delicate hand stitched accents.
Whichever embellishment style you choose, the result is a unique piece that captures your personal interpretation of summer vibes.
Now for the numbers:
As alredy mentioned in my pattern for a "Crochet Wreath Base Pattern"
Crochet WREATH pattern:
- R0: 36ch
- R1: join the circle in top loop of the first chain with a sc, 35sc - 36st
- R2: {5sc, inc}x6 - 42st
- R3: {3sc, inc, 3sc}x6 - 48st
- R4: 48sc - 48st
And that is it. Well you have to make the second part, but the numbers are the same.
Don't forget! You can see how to make the wreath base also in my YouTube Video Tutorial.

Note! When I was joining both part I was sewing trough both loops of both parts - just means the wreath is more tight.

And here you can see some pictures from the process of making the Crochet Statement Pendant Jewelry.
First, I made the base as a mini wreath.
Then, I picked out some beads I had on hand and started sewing them on at random. After some time I saw that it didnt work like I wanted it to... and I wasn't happy with how it looked so I started over.
But just look at the final result!
Would you like to make, crochet something like this and or just wear it?
Happy crafting
Alex xx
