|
A crochet love heart amigurumi written pattern with a YouTube video tutorail to follow along and notes to help you make this clasic gift for people you love. Because the pattern uses only basic crochet stitches it is the easiest crochet heart pattern and a perfect cochet amigurumi project to start with.
I made these crochet hearts for friends as keychains, pendants, ornaments and I even planted one in a pot to make a crochet heart flower. With this pattern you can play around with different types of yarn to get different sizes.
So with Valentines day just around the corner why not crochet a LOVE HEART AMIGURUMI?
Note! Different sizes of crochet hooks and yarn can give you different sizes of crochet hearts.
Note! You can mix and match diferent colors of yarn and make a multicolor striped crochet heart. Just try using the same weight of yarn.
The stitches used in this pattern for the corchet heart are:
- magic ring
- sl st - slip stitch
- ch - chain stitch
- sc - single crochet stitch
- inc - single crochet increase stitch - make 2sc from 1
- dec - single crochet decrease stitch - done only in the flont loos (from 2 make 1)
Materials needed for crocheting an amigurumi heart:
- crochet hook (3mm)
- yarn
- scissors
- needle
- stuffing - you can use polyester fiberfill, cluster fiberfill, recycled cotton filling, rice,...

Note! The pattern is the worked in continuous rounds.
Note! In the pattern you have two seperate parts that you join together with crocheting around both parts. You might need to sew together a tiny gap.
Written pattern row by row:
- R0: magic ring
- R1.1: 6sc - 6st
- R2.1: 6inc - 12st
- R3.1: {sc, inc} x6 - 18st
- R4.1: 18sc - 18st
- R5.1: 18sc - 18st
- R6.1: 18sc - 18st - cut the yarn, leave a tail for sewing two top parts together (20cm)
Now you have to make another top part of the crochet heart amigurumi.
- R0: magic ring
- R1.2: 6sc - 6st
- R2.2: 6inc - 12st
- R3.2: {sc, inc} x6 - 18st
- R4.2: 18sc - 18st
- R5.2: 18sc - 18st
- R6.2: 18sc - 18st
Now this is the part where I need to join the two top parts of the crochet heart. The two top parts of the crochet heart will be joined in two stitches - stitch 9, 10 from the 2nd part and 1st and 2nd stitch from the 1st part. The sewing will be made after R7 when the two top parts are joined completely.
Note! You have two options to crochet the bottom part of the crochet amigurumi heart.
Normal decrease of the bottom part of the crochet amigurumi heart
- R7: 8sc on the 2nd part, 18sc on the 1st part, 8sc on the 2nd part - 32st
- R8: 32sc - 32st
- R9: {14sc, dec} x2 - 30st
- R10: {8sc, dec} x3 - 27st
- R11: {7sc, dec} x3 - 24st
- R12: {6sc, dec} x3 - 21st
- R13: {5sc, dec} x3 - 18st
- R14: {4sc, dec} x3 - 15st - at this step I suggest that you fill the heart up almost to the top
- R15: {3sc, dec} x3 - 12st
- R16: {2sc, dec} x3 - 9st
- R17: {sc, dec} x3 - 6st - cut the yarn and sew through the front loops only the bottom.
For more advanced and perfected amigurumi crochet heart, where you have to pay more attention to your stitches and counting you can use the below pattern. The decrease stitches are more hidden while spliting every other row.

I used your pattern for some christmas decorations and I love how my crochet hearts came out. I will have to crochet a few more for my sil and her color coordinated tree. As you said the pattern is super easy to make.

I will try making one with you pattern. I don't know why but the patterns I saw were either to long or to chunky. Hope for a good result.
