Crochet Easter EGG

|

Crochet easter eggs as a decoration are perfect because they never break and last a lifetime. You can make them in a single color or as a rainbow. The choice is yours.

According to Wiki:

Easter eggs are eggs that are sometimes decorated. They are usually used as gifts on the occasion of Easter. As such, Easter eggs are common during the season of Easter. The oldest tradition is to use dyed and painted chicken eggs, but a modern custom is to substitute chocolate eggs wrapped in colored foil, hand-carved wooden eggs, or plastic eggs filled with confectionery such as chocolate.

So why not make a crochet egg? Single color or in different colored rows. The choice is up to you.

Notes:

The crochet easter egg is a beginner friendly pattern becuase it uses only basic crochet stitches.

The pattern is done in continuous rounds, so you just have to count the stitches and perhaps use a marker to remember what row is done and the numberf of crochet stitches.

I used a color changing yarn and worked it all without any rows. I have a rainbow colored Easter eggs - 8 - already displayed at the window.
